Voted as the top 20 9-hole course, I would totally agree with it, this course is just amazing!!! Not just because it's design of blending in the trees, but also the view to the bay, it's hard to imagine that this is the course 25mins away from the San Francisco downtown. Such a resort like ambience, I take the most photos ever from a 9-hole course. One thing noticeable is that their club house is like a bistro, an authentic wooden little house, quite interesting.

Bravo all around. This is what golf should look like. If you are worried about conditioning, just roll your ball and get over it. Magnificent design, and kudos for culture. Beautiful clubhouse, and absurdly fun golf course. Gent in the clubhouse was great and very welcoming.

My friend and I were visiting San Francisco for a golf trip. On our last day of our trip before flying out, we found a cheap tee time at Gleneagles. 4 of us showed up for our tee time, and the guy in the proshop/restaurant was a total prick. I told him we were checking in for our tee time, and the first thing he says is “there are so many things wrong with this booking, why are there 4 of you here.” I have never had an issue having an extra person coming as long as they pay for their own seat on the cart. In fact, we played Presidio the day before with a friend in the cart who wasn’t golfing - they simply paid for their seat. Anyway, he wouldn’t allow our friends to come out with us even though there were no other people on our reservation & we were golfing as a duo. Then, before we even left the proshop, before we even PAID for our cart, the proshop attendant was accosting my friend about not having brought her own set of clubs - which she did. “Players must use their own clubs at all times & I only saw 1 bag out there and it’s not yours.” When in fact, the clubs outside the proshop WERE hers, I hadn’t even had a chance to ask for a rental set for myself yet. All in all, our experience was disappointing considering we played spectacular courses the 3 days prior. I am shocked to see so many positive reviews, but figured I’d leave a real one… especially after being corrected to stay on the cart path when there in fact is no cart part or signage anywhere in sight. Not even a sign to show you what hole you were at. I also thought it was a poor design to have disk golf happening at the same time on the same holes, making us wait for people throwing frisbees so we didn’t hit them with our golf balls. 1 star was for the greens, they were in great condition. Everything else was unbearably dry - I mean, even our courses up in Canada get watered.

My first golf experience in SF. I’ll start off by saying this 9 hole course will challenge you. If you stray away from the fairways you will pay for it. By far some of the toughest greens I’ve ever played. The pin placement makes it that much more challenging.

Scott is freaking awesome! As a starter and a bartender… his sense of humor had me soo entertained as I had to wait for my friend and he kept the laughs rolling while we both waited. I’ve always loved Gleneagles, and between him and Emmett, I will keep coming back and bring my friends because I love this course. It’s both challenging and fun all in one.
